Using the Micro 980 soft-tissue laser, Dr. Gunnin carefully removes a small amount of gum tissue, revealing underlying tooth structure and evening the gum line. The laser simultaneously removes excess tissue while cauterizing remaining tissue, which reduces bleeding and discomfort. In most cases, we do not need to use sutures to reattach gum tissue following treatment, so gums heal more quickly.
